Fabric Integration: 400 GSM Upholstery Line

Background

Soft-seating programs depend on upholstery that survives daily use while matching AMHANCIBLE's warm neutral palettes. We needed a mill partner capable of heavy-weight fabric at production scale, not one-off sampling.

Challenge

Commodity suppliers often ship 280–350 GSM textiles that pill and flatten under load. Heavy fabrics can feel stiff if finishing is wrong. Color drift between batches breaks visual consistency across a collection.

Solution

We partnered with a Jiangsu weaving and dye house to develop a 400 GSM multi-layer flannel with mechanical brushing in-line. Their lab supports batch color calibration against our reference chips, and every lot passes abrasion tests before release to cutting. The program now feeds multiple sofa and accent chair SKUs with stable hand-feel and color.
